New Study for a Foxy Painting

In some of these newer pieces I am trying to maintain what I created in the last 9 works, but without the very 'in your face' genitalia. A friend pointed out that it takes the magic away. And while I agree, I'm trying to find some balance. In any case, I am looking forward to painting this guy - bigger canvas, bigger dreams. ha. Sort of reminds me of Disney's animated Robin Hood - always thought he was sort of sexy. Didn't look at any reference - so must have come through my sub-conscious.

The Newest Primate

I don't know where these come from. And I hated this until I am almost finished, but now I like it. I like my colors and it fits in the family. This makes 9 of these paintings! I'll finish this next time and then a few more to go! The bottom image shows my little original sketch next to it.

The Doe

Not dirty or adult in any way... just something I like that I did. It's pretty much ok.

Hoot Hoot

This one was fun to paint but I got carried away (stuck) on the details of the glasses and the eyes. So it's a little busy, but it's done. I also got a little painterly with the feathers on the belly. I'm excited to try new things. I also decided against a bandage on the purple penis and opted for a bloody beak. This horny owl got in a fight trying to fuck a squirrel. (What's wrong with me?)

Stubbs the Koala

This was fun to paint. It took a while to get time to go back to the studio. And when I finally did, I finished it fairly quickly. I like the color choices and small details like the turtle-neck part of the shirt. Not the best photo - I will get all of these professionally photographed.  His name is Stubbs.

Rough Day Painting

I had a very rough day. I took off from work midday and went home but couldn't stay there - so I went to my studio and wrapped my brain around a new piece. I wanted to just focus on anything other than my life. The piece is not reflective of my emotion - I just needed to make. And while I am not in love with this somber face (as I am with most of my other works), I am in serious like. The wood was very grained and had deep grooves and that made for a challenge to even make a straight line. Especially against the grain.  Anyway, here is a WIP and then the final piece in pencil.

Pencils Are Done

I'll add paint soon, but I am super proud of this. I don't know if I'll be able to let this one go.

More progress.

I'm liking this but I am sure there is a proportion issue - plus it's getting me emotional. So I stopped for the day. But it's good so far...

New Guy - WIP pics

I'm really enjoying this - I will do my best to make big progress tomorrow during the day. MAAAAYBE I will finish it if I am lucky with the pencil and brush! It's actually bigger than I have done previously - and I was challenging myself to fit the entire body on the board and not cut him off anywhere. So far, so good - though I am not 100% on the proportions. But still, I am happy.

Yellow Guy Finished!

I really like how he turned out and I was especially happy I followed my gut to not stop last week. It sat on my mind all week that I should add the tattoo and shade the arms. I went in early this morning (the studio was the best decision) and finished.
